Welcome to the Community Relations section. The Council has two significant functions in this area which are detailed below. Be sure to bookmark this page, as it will be updated on a regular basis.

The 2 main functions are:

  •  
Strand 2 of the Community Relations Youth Service Support Scheme (CRYSSS), for headquarters voluntary youth organisations
  •  
The JEDI Initiative – through a partnership involving all sections of the youth services, developing a strategy in the areas of community relations and education for citizenship underpinned by the principles of equity, diversity and education for citizenship.

The staff involved in this area of the Council’s work are:

Paul Smyth, Community Relations Development Officer – responsible to the Youth Council for the operation of CRYSSS, and co-ordinating the JEDI Initiative.

Norma Rea, JEDI Policy & Research Officer, responsible for the policy development aspects of JEDI, the implementation of the JEDI evaluation strategy, and the research output of the JEDI Initiative.
